34. Hit First |
|
If a fight is going to happen, there is a tremendous advantage to taking the initiative and hitting first. Getting hit hurts and is disorienting. You want this to be him and not you. Hit first and keep hitting until you can escape.
Realize that punching a muscular person or a person wearing a heavy jacket or a person who is drunk or drugged in the arm or the chest is going to have minimal impact. Make that comically little impact.
As a general rule, you smash against bone and stab into soft areas.
You must strategically direct your strikes. Think five target areas: eyes, throat, solar plexus, groin and the arch of the foot. Remember to hit through the target. An assailant cannot protect these areas no matter how many bench presses he has done. You will cause danger. He will hurt. You will get away.
Take off the hat.
